With four strong section leaders, there is excellent support for even the lightest voices. Rehearses Wednesdays at 7pm. SUNDAY AT FIVE MUSICIANS You are invited to sing or play at this service of prayer, meditation, music and Holy Eucharist, held Sundays at 5pm. To share your musical talent, contact Lee Cobb. Rehearses Mondays at 5:00 pm. ASCENSION CARILLON GUILD
Learn to play Ascension's authentic traditional 49-bell carillon! Volunteers play the bells before and after services on Sunday mornings, proclaiming Christ to our neighborhood. If you can read treble clef, you can learn to "chime" hymn tunes! The carillonneur learns to play on a practice keyboard in the choir room; instead of bells, this identical keyboard produces sound by striking small metal bars. The Ascension Carillon Guild plays before and after church services, for weddings and funerals, and at carillon concerts throughout the year. Lessons are free. The Guild meets Tuesdays at 10:30am October-May. Thru this school, students may pursue a diploma in the art of carillon performance. Our carillonneur, Lee Cobb, serves as a regional instructor. Contact [email protected] |
