Acolytes carry the processional crosses, torches, banners and flags. They help the service run smoothly by lighting candles, distributing the offering plates, and assisting the clergy with the Holy Eucharist. Open to 1st thru 12th graders, and adults.

VERGERS
Vergers have been dubbed "the butlers of God's house"! At the direction of the clergy, Vergers can be found performing a wide variety of tasks that prepare the church for worship and ensure that services proceed in an organized and reverent manner. They supervise Acolytes and Layreaders and are ready to substitute for either at any time. They also assist at funerals. At Ascension, both adults and senior high youth serve as vergers.
